We are pleased to present our IFS PACsecure exclusive newsletter for packaging companies. It will be sent to all IFS PACsecure certified companies as well as packaging businesses within our vast network of contacts. The intent of this newsletter is to keep you informed of our activities, developments, and news with respect to the IFS Packaging Standard and IFS. In this newsletter, you will learn about the new website, revised logo, review process of IFS PACsecure Version 2, and the IFS/AuditOne collaboration.  In addition, we have included an article on managing glass and brittle plastics in your facility.

We are delighted to present the new IFS PACsecure website at www.ifs-packaging.com. IFS PACsecure is our Standard for primary and secondary packaging manufacturers servicing the food and non-food industries. On this new site you will find, at your fingertips, an overview of the Standard, the path to certification, tools, training, resources, and contacts. 

If you are already certified, you can download the new logo by logging into the database.  Be sure to display it on your promotional material, website and on your social media pages.  

ON ITS WAY: IFS PACSECURE VERSION 2

A working group, comprised of representatives from the packaging industry, certification bodies, retailers, regional associations, food industry, household and personal care, the IFS, and PAC Packaging Consortium, has begun a review of the Standard. Version 2 is expected to publish in early 2021. Initially, the IFS PACsecure standard was developed to audit food contact packaging material manufacturers. In Version 2, the audit scope will be wider, comprising other non-food packaging for products such as cosmetics, household chemicals, and personal hygiene items. In general, Version 2 will cover consumer goods sold by retail to consumers.

COMBINED AUDITS FOR IFS PACSECURE AND AUDITONE SUPPLEMENTAL MODULES

The IFS PACsecure/AuditOne Supplemental Modules (ASMs) are for packaging companies supplying the pharmaceutical, over the counter drugs, cosmetics, and home and laundry industries. The ASMs give you the option to combine audits to meet brand owner compliance requirements. If you supply packaging to companies such as Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, and Johnson & Johnson, you can now achieve certification by combining your audits. READ MORE
